Babworth Snowdrops

Visit the grounds of All Saints Church, Babworth to admire the spectacular display of snowdrops.

This year, Babworth Church cannot open its doors for its annual Snowdrop Festival, due to the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, we are encouraging local people to make a walk to and around the church part of their permitted daily exercise. A round trip of about 90 minutes walking can take you from St Swithun’s Church in Retford’s town centre, out to Babworth to walk through the snowdrop covered grounds, and back again.

This will support wellbeing through engagement with nature; give visitors the chance to enjoy the pilgrim story at Babworth; and also be a great opportunity to take photos of signs of spring – which we will host in a gallery on our website if people send them in to us. Sharing photos may bring a smile to those who cannot physically visit the church at the moment, so please do send them to @PilgrimRoots on Facebook and twitter, or email info@pilgrimroots.org

We’ve also created a simple snowdrop craft tutorial you can join in with at home. These paper snowdrops would be lovely to send on a card to someone you are missing this spring, or bring the promise of spring into your home. You can also engage with the Pilgrims Trail from home with our audio trail and videos.
